Working with you so far
Since 2019, we’ve been talking and listening to you to find out what matters to you – what you like, what could be better, and what ideas you have for your community. Throughout 2021 we carried out consultation with you and more than 2000 surveys were completed. Thank you to everyone who gave their views.
With your feedback, we’re now developing a plan for the Abbey - a once in a lifetime opportunity to bring long-lasting improvements for today’s and tomorrow’s residents.

Timeline so far
What's happening now
Our conversations with you are continuing. We’re going to keep listening and speaking to you in the weeks, months, and years to come. Whatever we do will be shaped with you. And, over the coming months, we still want to hear your views on:
- Open space, for play, for relaxation, for everyone to enjoy;
- Streets, and how to get around the Abbey;
- Homes, and what you’d like to see in new homes;
- Your neighbourhood heart, and what you’d like to see in the centre of your community.
We’re going to be in your neighbourhood centre from 10am – 2pm every Thursday. We’ll be here to listen to you, find out your thoughts, and answer your questions. We’re also going to be writing you to let you know of any special events we’ll be holding to get your views.

As we near the final phase of Thetford's Abbey Estate consultation, read more here in the Eastern Daily Press' latest article.
The third stage of consultations into the future of the Abbey Estate took place to gather tenants and residents further views.
People were asked for their ideas on how the Abbey Estate could be improved to tackle various issues across the estate.
We ran a series of online workshops during the pandemic to gather tenants and residents views and to establish the main areas of concern across the estate.
Find out what it's like to live on the Abbey Estate and the areas that residents & tenants feel could be improved to better support the community and make it safer.
