Flagship's T Level offerings - National Apprenticeship Week 2024
As part of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week, running between Monday 5 and Sunday 11 February, Flagship’s Apprenticeships team is highlighting more about T Levels, the post GCSE technical-based qualifications introduced in 2020 as another opportunity for sixth-form students alongside A-Levels.
What is the difference between T Levels and A Levels?
T Levels, also known as a technical level, are two-year post-16 courses which are taken after completing GCSEs. These courses have been developed in collaboration with employers and education providers to prepare students for the working world. Unlike A levels, which are primarily study and exam-based, T Levels will include 315 hours (equivalent to 45 days) of on-the-job experience through an industry placement. T levels are a good starting point for individuals who want to gain experience and are based on the same standards as apprenticeships.
What T Levels are currently available?
Due to the launch of T Levels in 2020, the variety of subjects for T levels is slowly growing. Currently there are over 20 T levels are available for the following:
- Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care (2024 onwards)
- Business and Administration
- Catering and Hospitality (2024 onwards)
- Construction
- Creative and Design (2024 onwards)
- Digital
- Education and Early Years
- Engineering and Manufacturing
- Hair and Beauty
- Health and Science
- Legal, Finance and Accounting
- Sales, Marketing and Procurement (2024 onwards)
Flagship’s T Level offerings
We are excited that our first T Level placement is set to join us this month, joining the Customer Experience Team, which focuses on engagement with our tenants and customers to ensure that they have a positive experience with us and ways that we can make that experience better.
