Flagship has the expertise and track record of building quality homes. More importantly we build the right kind of homes in the right locations. We know how vital it is to provide low cost housing for people in need.
Being ambitious is one thing, but delivering is critical. We know that to be successful at everything we do we must work in partnership.
As part of a new ground-breaking alliance called ‘Homes for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough’, Flagship will be helping to deliver up to 40,000 affordable homes over the next 20 years.
We will be working with 14 other housing associations and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority. It’s after the authority was allocated a specific housing grant worth £170m.
Part of the grant will be used to build housing of mixed tenure, including affordable rents to ensure homes are suitable for people on a range of incomes.
The alliance will start by building at least 2,000 additional affordable homes by 2021.
We want to develop long-term relationships with land owners, local authorities and other housing associations in successful joint ventures to transform areas for the better and play our part in meeting the housing demand. What is important to us is long term investment in our communities.
We are financially strong and recognise the importance of creating the right blend of homes depending on the needs of the local community.
We will buy land and build our homes using local contractors and consultants and work with house-builders who desire and deliver quality homes in existing and new communities.
We will use our own land, such as redundant garage sites, to create new affordable homes and re-develop sites to create new places that people want to live.
