Gasway acquisition leads to improved service and positive customer feedback

An improved service and positive customer feedback allowing Flagship to invest more into providing more homes for people in need. These are some of the key benefits since Flagship Group acquired Gasway Services Ltd a year ago.

The decision to bring its gas work in-house also provided the housing company with an opportunity to widen its repairs and maintenance offering and reinforce focus towards growing its profitable activity; investing it back into the business to deliver the best service for customers.

In the 12 months since the acquisition, feedback from customers has been extremely positive – satisfaction levels have been predominantly above 90%.

Gasway is anticipating continued growth and forecasting significant profits for 2018/19 to reinvest back into the business.

As part of its boiler servicing next year, Gasway will be providing carbon monoxide alarms and upgrading fire detection alarms where required in 16,000 Flagship’s homes to increase safety for customers.

Managing Director of Gasway and former owner Liam Betts said: “Before the acquisition, we had reached a stage where we needed more external investment to grow the business to the next level. Being part of the Flagship Group means we are now moving into other geographical areas as there are limited options in the areas Gasway currently operates.

“Flagship enables Gasway to take on more work as there is more resource available. They are a great company as they allow us to continue to operate how we did previously but deliver even better customer service.

Deputy Chief Executive of Flagship Helen Walsham said: “The acquisition has been a really positive experience for us. For Flagship, it means we’re moving towards self-sufficiency. It’s allowed us to achieve what we wanted to financially and regarding customer satisfaction.

The continued desire for growth for both Gasway and Flagship led to Gasway expanding its offering in September by acquiring Milgas Services Ltd, a gas heating services and installation business based in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire.
