Flagship invites school children to join conversation on community changes
Pupils of Bishop’s Primary School in Thetford have been invited to take part in a creative competition to imagine their ideal place to live, as Flagship seeks to give young people a voice in the ongoing conversations about the Abbey estate.
The competition has been launched to encourage students, aged between four – 11, to share their views on their community.
Callum James, Project Manager with Flagship Group met with the students at a special assembly. He said: “Over the last few months, we’ve been holding drop-in sessions on the Abbey to get people’s thoughts and ideas for the estate. We are really keen to get young people involved in the conversation and we’re looking forward to seeing what is important to them too.”
Flagship will be selecting three pictures to receive gift voucher prizes.
Henry Armes, Business Manager with Bishop’s School welcomed the opportunity for children to get involved in the conversation through the competition.
He said: “Our children were very enthusiastic after Flagship’s visit. Service is one of our school’s core values and our pupils are very excited be offered the opportunity to use their imagination and creative skills to help shape the future of their community.”
Flagship Group, Norfolk County Council and Breckland Council have agreed to work together to deliver meaningful change to the Abbey community in Thetford.
