A message from our Chief Executive on Housing Day

Today we're celebrating Housing Day and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to reflect on the great work we do as a Group, and how we strive to provide outstanding customer service.

Everything we do, whether we're speaking with our customers, maintaining their homes or building new ones, we’re all working towards our goal of solving the housing crisis in the East of England.

We should all feel proud about the difference we make every day. We provide thousands of people from every walk of life with a place they can call home. One that is affordable, safe, and part of a community that thrives. The work we do matters because the lives we help matter.

When you look at home from the outside, it is just bricks and mortar. But on the inside, it’s much more than that, it’s made by the people who live there. The saying “Home is where the heart is” says it all. Or as the novelist Cecelia Ahern says: “Home is not a place; home is a feeling!” and she couldn’t be more right.

Housing is human. And it’s about helping people, offering a chance in life. And for all of us at Flagship, it’s about providing a service that makes our homes a choice, not a default. We’re not just a provider of places, where people feel safe and secure, our homes help to create feelings and endless memories, where people grow up and grow old.

Home, there is no place quite like it. It’s still the place where I wake up, kiss the mirror and feel proud to be part of what we do - every single day.

There is no one meaning for the word home, but what we do know is; Housing is Human.
